Dixie Ranch Road
Comments:
I love the recession in this and the hint of your colour palette. It looks like the golden hour but is that the fog/mist?
Morning mist was what I surmised when I first saw this: Florida isn't that bad!!
But is this a return from an all-night party? I'm intrigued by the rightward tilt: no more than that as it certainly helps to get one round the corner!
It is a very 'morning' shot - it makes the thought of the impending heat of the day more bearable.
Early morning it was, John. I was waiting for a remark about tilt -- this is another "scene while driving" image. I often straighten them out, but this one seemed close to level even though the trees and fence lean in some, and I didn't want to lose any of the left-most tree!
I didn't notice the lean so much as a whole picture thing, just thought that everything here seemed tired after a hot day.
I like very much the overall impact of the picture and the success in capturing the feel of early morning—especially that tree on the left leaning in to get in the shot. The broad expanse of the road bothers me a bit and leaves me unsatisfied somehow, even though I like the light patterns and colors on the surface. I can't quite get my thoughts in order for this one.
I can't help but wonder what this would have looked like framed horizontally. The expanse of sky and road at the top and bottom of the frame respectively seem to detract from the receding fence and line of trees.
I find this photograph very interesting, has many of my favoite subjects; atmosphere, palms, fence and dirt roads. But after so much feedback on my titling images, that idea that these are falling off the right is real bothersome for me.
I would consider getting the ground level and then cropping a horizontal section out of the middle. But that is me;- ) More emphasis on the foggy portion.
This has some rather unusual slopes about it. The fence, trees and road all taper off to that middle right point. It does make your eye rush down there too which leaves me unsure as to whether those distant tress are strong enough to keep you in the picture. To me just...
