That is something special.b

The series white/grey/drabness is completely dispelled by that shared blue brolly.

Superb

Great title ""!! Almost like brrr!

Probably inadvertently caught but the high rise top left adds a lot to the composition: to a slightly lesser extent, so does the man over on the right. The main moment though is the lovely blue of the umbrella: I'm not sure whether the red band at the bottom of the pole next to it adds or not but is a really minor point.

There aren't many cars out but there is evidence of bicycles along this bit of road, which begs the question as to why you are there with your camera?!!

For such a bleak scene there is plenty to keep the eyes interested. My overbearing thought is given all the tracks and the fact that I'm being pushed through the picture rather than pulled through, I expected the people under the blue umbrella to be walking away from me. Again a smaller figure towards the back is making a big impression in the overall scene and some robot overlords along the left is a polite nod to matt.

It's taking me a while to work out that these folks are coming as opposed to going.

I'm not sure if this is quite full enough, but I'm not sure what I would change. There might be a bit too much foreground, but if there wasn't so much they'd be walking right out of frame. Hmm.

[There wasn't a title to this when I got here so I've popped in 'untitled' to stop the indexing breaking down.]

The blue brolly probably isn't quite perfectly placed in the frame, but the timing was dictated by the running brolly. The overall effect seems to capture the time and place well, but doesn't engage me as an image. The parts seem greater than the whole.

This one is intriguing because of where it places me in the continuing "story" that has been set in motion in my mind by the series. Have we seen green before? I have become so accustomed to the bleak palette. My mind starts playing with the thought that there has been a deliberate decision to withhold blue sky until the climax of this story, and is what we see here a foreshadowing of that moment? And, we even get to see green! The bonus is the interesting manner of including RBG in the image. Perhaps it's all those strong verticals that say moving upward and offer hope. And, of course, the figures coming toward me tell a slightly different story than our familiar distant and receding character who still moves away from us (threatening to escape the frame), thus maintaining mystery and tension.

seeing the figure middle right with an umbrella and running across the road pulls this picture together. I want less information left and bottom though.

Sorry about the confusion with this post, my computer, connection, or internet IPS has been acting a little hicky. So I did not know that this actually was posted, and then I could not access the site. Sigh.

Now I am in Colorado using a nephews system; so first thank you for the comments. I had planned to post this even before Anita noticed all my other "moving away" folks.

This was in China during the freak snow storm (we had green grass, trees and the like the days before) last January. It was as odd as if a snow storm occured in San Diego.

Everyone was carrying umbrellas due to the fierce wind and blowing snow. So these two guys were walking towards me, but they did not know I was in their way, and I had to jump right after I made this photograph.

I had to crop out my own umbrella at the top, but I wanted to keep the other smaller umbrella to the right as well as the tracks in the snow in the foregound. It was just a cold, nasty day, but I found these two guys and their blue umbrella amusing and interesting.

To see the green leaves and grass in the snow is a bit novel -- and for me, to see umbrellas used in this way in a snowstorm is, too. I have wondered how different this would be if the main umbrella had a different color. As it is, the cool light blue seems fitting.

Overall, I find a lot to interest me here, but I am particularly taken by the small background figure.
