Clouds and Hoppers

Another "scene while driving" -- the patches of light blue sky are the only reason I didn't post this as a monotone. ;-)

Comments:
Yes, that shade of blue is definitely worth it.

With the shape of the cloud I was left with the impression that the silos were taking off!

This has to be colour, and not just for the blue (which hardly moves away from grey): the variations within the greys and tinged by the lightest of beige look wonderful. This is indeed how we see such places as it is rare to get inside the premises.

'the variations within the greys and tinged by the lightest of beige look wonderful'

That too. It's not a color palette often seen in photography.

Another vote for this being in colour.

I like the premise of your 'scene while driving' series. I'm not sure I could do it (despite the mirror pictures).

I am for the color as well. Nice composition, well balanced. It reminds me of a Wyeth watercolor. I like the higher key with the small dark areas of the converyor and details of the silos. very nice industrial landscape, I could hang this on my wall (but my wife takes great acception to these compositions!)

I can really only do this when I'm not the one actually doing the driving!

Thanks for the comments.

It took me a while to find but here is a link of pictures I find in a similiar vein, http://www.mxdesigns.de/.
This picture works for me, I love the light tones, the bright feeling. I'm glad you left this colour as well, a dramatic tone and zone would of ruined it.
Slightly off center subject with strong base, dynamic, wonderful.

I've had a lot of fun playing with this in B&W but I think at the end it all became a little to "photomagazine B&W mood effect plugin-like". So agree, colour works much better here. It also gives it a much quieter feel almost humming in fact.
