Capton Wood, Dittisham

everywhere ripples, that is repeated in the array of smaller pebbles and splashes of colour.
My only objection is the dry portion of the rock which is dull compared to the rest of the picture. Maybe this is exactly the part others like though so I am open to suggestions as to why this part maybe what sets this picture apart from others.

My guess is that all the rock is covered in water but the flow breaks into ripples downstream of the protruberance.

The picture reminds me somewhat of apre-Raphaelite painting and yet is reasonably abstract. The contrast between the still water portion of the picture and that which is rippled is very effective: an object, almost a creature, hiding from normal gaze but now revealed in all its glory. And it's only a stone!

The overall colour and look is very beautiful.

Wonderfully rich texture and such a strong sense of movement. I wish I could see more of the edges and all those luscious colors.

Mosaic in texture and vivid in colour. The snow crowned rock is a little bright but not too much given the rest of the brightness around. I guess I'm looking straight down but it is really hard to tell. Rather nasty bit of vignetting with the choice of lens though...!

A color abstraction; I feel that I know the subject, but yet it has me at un-ease. And I do not know why. This is just not a peaceful photograph for me.

"This is just not a peaceful photograph for me." I'm not sure why it should be: there are tensions all around the central 'being' that amount to a drum roll announcing its emergence.

Anything but peaceful I would have thought.

I think it was you that said of one of my recent photos that it was not a photo that you would have taken. I can say the same back to you here. I really like looking at this but it is extremely unlikely that I would have seen it as a potential photograph.

Lots to enjoy here.

My first thought was rather inane, but I'll say it anyway -- I like it. And that was before I recognized what it was. The abstract quality of it and the color, it all works for me. Well seen and executed.

I wonder if Akikana sees an echo of Mount Fuji here.

'I wonder if Akikana sees an echo of Mount Fuji here.'

I see a dragon tooth, and on the evidence of that bit of green it clearly needs to floss more often.

I knew there was something there I hadn't identified and dragon tooth is perfect. Now that would be some heavy duty floss, wouldn't it?

Was a little too perfect to be Fuji-san but very close.
