Valeria del Mar

Comments:
Some Christina colours :-)

Another deceptively simple shot (I've just commented on the Welsh photo above), with real complexity in the patterns in the right two thirds.

I wonder if this is an example of being trapped by a particular camera's format. I feel this shouting its need to be square.

My thought (also) was that this was Christina's; I was sure it was her palette.

I like his body language, it has a feel of defeat and retreat, not a successful fishing trip.

The light and birds add to the feel of the environment.

Even I was confused for a minute -- did I take this? No, the beach is too clean. ;-) I was preparing to post one with similar sky colors and decided to wait a bit with that.

Of course I like it.

Colin, I'd be interested to know just how you would crop this to square.

I to would wonder about the use of square here: I'd be happy following the clouds round the horizon! The colours are very much of those latitudes. What works well with the figure is the fact that he is carrying the rod. I wonder whether the two further along are just swimming.

Very simple and effective. The activity is rather static though and I'm left with what I can hear rather than see as being a big driver of this.

I can see a square in this. Most of the left hand third seems to be unused space. A tight crop around the fisherman and cloud might have worked better. Lovely colors though.

I find that I like the open right side, provides more of a story of what the fisherman is up against, the vastness of the ocean. A nice counterbalance for what all is going on on the right side. The clouds echoing the beach and figure are a nice repeative touch.
