Home 1

Sitting outside the house. Some interesting colours here :-)

Comments:
Land Rover seem to have made their windscreen tinting even stronger. That looks like a front approaching behind the car (nice telegraph pole) but it also would appear to be the more interesting way to go exploring. By bringing in the view in the mirror the presence of the car becomes more acceptable!

No arguing with the colours. The ultimate Photoshop Plug-in is now achieved by means of shooting through the window of a Land Rover. I'm definitely more interested in the right hand side versus the left - the scene in the mirror is much more inviting than the chocolate box in front.

The blue sky is interesting - although not quite the turn your tongue blue color of this one - but it's those slightly bloody looking grasses on the right that are really intriguing.

The mirror is east. Nothing up there but a croft and then moutains. The pole is the power line - telecoms run at ground level and only aren't visible here because of the vegetation. The "grasses" are dead, and snow burned, bracken.

The weather in the mirror (is closer than it appears...) wasn't as bad as it looks. The mirror did something to the blues. It was fine all day.

I didn't colour balance this as I had no idea what to colour balance it to. The vegetation out of the open side window is about right. There is a hint of green corner bottom right which is characteristic of the camera (DP1)

I would not have guessed that this was one of your photos -- my first thought was it was going to be Doug's.

I think the colors look fine -- the cool tint on the left helps move the eye over to the warm right side and the mirror view. It's a good balance. Both views, front and back are of interest to me.

I really enjoy this coming and going image with the use of the mirror. Seems that it was one of your same images that inspired me last Spring to work with a similar idea. Delightful! And of course that big pillar bisecting and framing the two image, creating the two pictures inside of the one. And the idea of looking to the Future (blue skies) while dealing with the Past (dark looming clouds).

I like colors and composition a lot, but I feel the car should be moving. It gives a weird feeling of not knowing well what's going on.
