palomas

Comments:
Interesting compostion. I'm still trying to figure out the intersection of the bottom line with the neck of the statue. Also, the longer I look, the more birds I find, they are everywhere. Do I see a Hitchcock event occuring?

!La paloma, que es un simbolo en muchas canciones en America Latina!

The contrast of birds with sky, tempered by the neutral colours of the skyline and statue, is very striking. Doug, I think that the lower cable is behind the statue.

I looked at your site and it appears that you live in Buenos Aires - is that correct?

There's something nearly post-apocalyptic about this, and it isn't entirely the birds. The statue is such grim, wiry figure, the kind of person that would inhabit a dire world. Who is he?

Despite the gray tones this pic brightened my morning when I first saw it. I did, actually, literally, laugh out loud. This is just so what photography is about. Well seen.

There is something about the curve of the lower cable holding down the other parts of the image that I find very strong in the composition. It was the first thing I noticed. The bird sitting on the head of the statue, which is the only thing that sticks above that cable, is just magic.

There are other cables not being used which I find interesting. I agree about that lower sweeping cable and the strength it adds to the shot - almost a wry grin in itself. Surprisingly, the bird in flight adds a lot of movement (and noise) to an otherwise cold, still and silent view.

Well seen, indeed. The birds create a wonderful design on the wires, etc., and the one sitting irreverently on top of the solemn statue adds the "crowning" touch.

So far, I'm greatly enjoying seeing this different part of the world through your eyes.

Hi,
Yes, I live in Buenos Aires. Despite looking silent, this shot was taken in one of the busiest, noisiest street corners in the city :-)
