no entry

Comments:
That's a good visual double entendre, bridal gown & no entry sign!! It made me smile.

An upgrade from Gf1.6 to Wfe1.0 !

There is something quite shoddy about that corner, not very inviting.

I like the incongruous triangle of bin, sign and gown.

Cold, sarcastic and entertaining altogether :-) You do have an eye for reds, don't you?

Stephaneb - I rarely pass up the opportunity to take a good red!! I'm not sure about "sarcastic" - that certainly wasn't an intention at the time; more 'sharp observation'.

Those hunched shoulder look defensive, or is that just the influence of the red sign.

I wish the top edge of the sign had made it into the frame, but that's a minor issue.

Charity shop? The rail behind the bride doesn't look very bridal.

The more I look at the figure the more incongruous the stance seems to be.

The crop top and bottom on the sign/post doesn't bother me (in fact it emphasises the crowded nature of the location) but the second white dress does. Not just because of the brightness which influences the visual balance of the shot, but also because without it the figure is more obviously looking out and away from its surroundings.

Llandysul's top clothes shop!! Thanks for comments on this Fuji F30 shot. I've thought about the left hand white dress and am not sure that it bothers me - it seems to echo the railing on the right; but no doubt we all see differently!

Rex the shoddy corner is interesting because Llandysul (the Welshest of towns with signs of the '50s evident still) has recently received a council/EU funded makeover - pedestrian paving, hanging pot plants, painted lamp posts (you know the sort of thing) - and to have a more 'natural' corner is a bit of a surprise.

First, I apologize for my long absence -- a lot of deadline work (still ongoing) and was out of town a few days besides. Will do my best to catch up at least a little bit.

Starting here -- very entertaining indeed. I also like the reds, especially in the fence. The patterns in the windows to the right, above the "bride's" window and in the ironwork, along with the dress and flowers contrast nicely with the mold, grunge, and garbage can around it.

I tend to agree with Colin on the second white dress, but it doesn't keep me from enjoying the image.

I find that everything has been said for this image, as I do find the 2nd white 'dress' triangle distracting. Otherwise, well seen.

I find the white model and red no-entry sign powerful in their own right to distract me from any other niggles that may or may not be in this shot: the message is much stronger than the picture. The 'cropped' sign sits well with the model's 'cropped' head.
