Facilities

Still the same site. This is underground, found while walking in a gloomy corridor. Struck by the tiles cleanness. That place felt strange.
Comments:
Serried ranks of loos!
In comparison with others in this series this is very clean and far from dilapidated.
There is a feeling that the rank goes on forever.
The tiles may look clean but the interiors don't look very inviting; a power-cut would not be a pleasant experience either. Some of the visual trickery here comes from those two columns of half tiles, with an even thinner insertion above the third door from the right - two loos for smaller people? There's nothing like abandoned toilets for that feeling of total desertion by previous owners/users.
A lesson here in observation. And I mean John's tiling comments. Not sure that I would have noticed.
Without the series I don't think I would have seen this as somewhere quite as abandoned as it is. But that doesn't stop it being a good standalone picture.
It is frightening to think of entering one of those dark stalls. The tiles give this quite a different feeling from the others, but it fits in the series well.
A very industrial bathroom scene, and regrefully, I've been here, but on better occasions! There is the meancing darkeness of the BC interiors, but that wonderful shaft of light that is coming in the window and iluminating the interior walls. Perhaps a bit of Hope in a rather dreadful place.
I'd really go to town with the dodging and burning here to emphasise a much stronger light drop-off and bring out those 'Armitage Shanks' much more. The small details inside the stalls could also do with some slight elevation. I'm undecided about the sliced entry off on the left: I think less would work more - i.e. crop to the right of that final entry. You'd then really start to feel 'trapped'.
It's a bit disconcerting when something like this is so pretty. I can imagine what that light looked like.
Was this site safe to walk around?
