Scene While Driving, Culvert and Cows

Comments:
It's interesting to go from looking at Stephane's latest to looking at this. In both cases the subject matches the treatment, but they couldn't be any farther apart in what they are about.
Although the colors are beautiful, it's the textures in the ground cover that really make this work.
I hope you weren't driving at the time! I like the composition with the cow off to the right of the line of trees. The culvert emphasizes that farming involves mucking around with the landscape (is there one under the road you are on?). The misty look transforms the scene and diffuses the colours beautifully.
It obviously suffers from being taken from the car as the foreground vegetation is a bit indeterminate and doesn't really lend itself to motion blur. Having said that, it fits in with the overall look of the picture and doesn't detract.
I'm sorry but I'm really in to that pipe! The cows are (unusually) well camouflaged - I spot two but I'm sure there's a couple more - yep just spotted a third in the mist in the back. A very deep picture and most unusual compared to your others in its colouring. There's a lot going on save that top right segment. Not that that's a problem as it adds a lot of brightness to the overall picture.
I could take you to parts of the New Forest which at around sunrise would produce similar images, excluding the corrugated pipe and replacing cattle with ponies or Long Horn cattle! The misty sunrise with a hint of recession in the image is very familiar but none the less attractive for that.
I have actually managed to get out early once this year and the images are still on the HD awaiting development.
John -- no, I was not the driver. Stan usually drives his pickup on our frequent short trips, and recently I like to take grab shots out the window along the way. It really adds interest to the drive for me, even if I throw many of those shots away.
It is really surprising to me what I "discover" in many of them, though -- things I missed as we go by at 60 mph. I'm starting to collect a whole series of some of those I find more interesting.
This has a nice balance to it and it took a bit to realize that this was from a moving vehicle with the foreground slightly blurred, nice capture. This image keeps my eyes moving about in a nice way. It reminds me of the 18th century English watercolor landscapes, with the exception of the pipe of course;- )
