Railings & Reflection & Rex

Comments:
So you're in the zoo, behind bars, but photographing outwards. How humans are channeled. The distortions work well to give a feel of movement. The only problem with reflections is that quite often one gets a very slightly milky effect also, in this case, a slight blue cast. I'm not quite sure what's happened but there is a thin strip just to the right of the vertical bar that appears without the cast and another near the right had side.

This certainly conjours up a number of stories all much better than the reality. The blue hue works to its advantage and I have no grievance with the lack of cast through the middle. This unsettling presentation adds to the enjoyment of the photograph. Well seen.

Doing the things that humans do.”

What I really like is that everybody is wearing blue except the guy not covered by the blue cast.

Brilliant. The warm strip by the gray bar comes forward and gives it depth, which strengthens the illusion. A wonderful observation.

another wonderful Rex 'reflection' image, which at first look, I did not even see our friend Rex in this. Does take you a while to get oriented, which adds to the interige of the image. Regrefully, the over all washed out blue coloring (cyan) makes me think of a bleached-out poster that's been out in the sun wat too long.

I see that old look Doug writes about. To me, that's fine. It gives a idea of those people being there forever and for ever. The heads being lined across the middle of the picture reinforce the wall height and make it vaguely menacing.

The guy in the brown puffer coat must not have gotten the note from wardrobe.

For some reason, this makes me think of the movie 'The Children of Men'. Perhaps it's the drabness and the bars, although the man far right could be smiling.
