More Walls

Yoyogi, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.
Comments:
The following is an English joke, sorry about that.
This is not just a wall, it is an akikana stills wall, it contains extra ingrediants to please the eye. A touch of shadow to expand the vision of what is behind. A hint of over the horizon with an antenna and the world beyond. A mixture of tones and textures, a coincident line all included to tempt the viewer. This is not just a wall, it is a wall from akikana & stills.
I'm hope those in the UK will chuckle over the nicking of a bit of the M&S food ad and the rest won't question my sanity, too much!
The only bit of your sanity I would question Rex is why you don't fast-forward the ads!
These are very much walls to be seen with the two (parking bay?) lines extended to the front: they are essential to the picture. The walls are nothing much but it is the small details that work their way through: the aerial top left and the shadows bottom right.
So - very carefully composed. Maybe one day, when the temporary wall comes down we'll get to know what lies behind.
Been in to look at this a few times now and like it more each time. Another super square -- there is nothing lacking in the composition. The antenna top left -- once I saw it, can't stop going back to look at it some more.
Despite not knowing the ad, I could appreciate your humor, Rex.
Out of town for a few days -- back soon.
Hopefully my photography will not go the same way that M&S' share price has...
Thanks for the comments. After I took the shot I did wonder about the alignment of the coincident line. I don't think I consciously noticed it whilst framing the shot but when I raised my head after flicking the shutter I saw the alignment and thought I must have caught it. I will need to go back because I am sure all three walls are permanent. I was surprised with the amount of cloud detail I had in the negative - the clouds and the tv aerial where the main two drivers for taking the shot in the first place. I had to hang around a little while for the sun to break for the shadow show though.
There's something a bit cold and anonymous about this. I don't want to work in any of those buildings.
For those not in the UK, a flavour of the M&S ad HERE
I have a slight admission to make in that I'd had a glass of sherry when I made the original comment!
I like the multiple planes within the image, then the little bits start to become evident, such as antenna, like a bug about to crawl over the edge of the wall. On my portable computer monitor, I lose some of the cloud detail in the highlights. A lot going on! Then those latent shadows, really nice.
I enjoy the different lines and their interplay. The greys play well together too. To me, this is very harmonious, interesting despite being abstract.
