Black Water, Ober Heath

Fridge

Wandering around on the site (it was huge), I came across this. Sometimes one has to wonder...
Building B4 (04290006)

On the campus maps, this building doesn't have any name besides B4. It's right across the green from my office, but I've no idea what goes on there.

Time to get spiky...

...well, Christmas gets a bit much doesn't it. This is what the garden really looks like now that the candy floss frost has gone away.

Florida "Christmas Tree" (Cardinal Flower)

No frost here or snow here, but thought this might do as I jump onto the holiday theme bandwagon.
I made this image last year in an attempt to create the look of stacked slides -- I took one photo in focus and another one out of focus and overlaid them in Photoshop. I also added a mostly transparent high contrast layer on top. I've tried this technique several times with other images, but have never again been quite this successful.

Merry Xmas

And thanks to all for making Stills such an engaging place though the year.
Two Towers

The title has always been "Two Towers" and that was in non suspect times. I hope this is not getting too long. It looks like a this pace it could lead me well into 2008!

Lone Bowl

This is a room that's on the right, just before entering another huge hall. Most probably, a room where workers gathered during breaks. During all the time I spent on that site I touched nothing an just photographed what I found. The bowl was there, that way, so obvious I had to wonder why.

Red-shouldered Hawk on Iron Post

The kind of portrait I'm more comfortable with. I'd much prefer to see a natural perch, but these birds seem to prefer to hunt from a man-made one -- perhaps for the stability. It does have an up-side, since it puts them closer to the road where they can be photographed while using the vehicle as a blind (hide).

Hard Hands Area

This one I re-scanned. It looks like I have plenty of editing in front of me for this series. I dislike many original scans.
This was probably a workshop. Well, I have no idea what kind of work was done in that hall.

Headed out of town (back to the prairie) for a few days, so I'll have to play catch up again when I return.
