Fridge

Wandering around on the site (it was huge), I came across this. Sometimes one has to wonder...

Comments:
Clearly someone wanted to be able to get something from the freezer by going through the window ;-)

If you could open the lower door via the window the answer would be clear: beer!

I had just seen this on Stephane's web gallery where he has brought all of thses photos together and mentioned I had not seen this image, and I found it very surrealistic. Then I pop over here, and opps, posted! This image has just such a strange presence and I can't fully figure out why, but I do like it!

Yes, one can make up all sorts of stories about this. A great prompt to the imagination.

And behind the doors is tonights star prize the latest in fridge freezers complete with a years supply of...............

As you say all sorts of stories.

I like it too, I don't know why either..........

No doubt it doesn't have an EU A-rating for energy efficiency. Given the context, not really such a strange sight. The doors do seem to have collected the fallout from coke over the years.

I had meant to include in my first comment how this fits in to the series. I know that other pictures give historical dating but somehow this one does that more - like an archaeological dig: one can 'carbon date' the C20 by fridge manufacture. The use of the various diverging lines is good.

Hard to put my finger on what attracts me to this shot too! It's obviously the placement of the fridge and being so close (and thus 50% unusable) to the window. I see this kind of thing (misplacement) commonly around Tokyo on my walks. It always amazes me how someone decides on the worst positioning then lives with it...

Late to comment so not much to add. Obviously this fridge has seen a lot -- it has acquired quite a bit of character and that comes across very well here.

I really enjoyed looking at the entire series in your web gallery.
