A Hummer

Nezu, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo.

Comments:
I enjoy your humor. What I also enjoy is the white line that seems to start just beyond the Hummer which takes you into the distance. Perhaps I would see if I could reduce the highlights in the horizon, they are large enought and near the handle bars to be very distracting. I want to look at the Hummer but my eyes are drawn to the highlights.

It would be good if the company produced only these. How safe is it to leave a bike unattended in Tokyo I wonder. Is that the start of a cycle lane past the barrier? What lies beyond the bicycle is of more interest than the bike itself.

Not your typical shoppers bike - despite the basket. Seriously lacking in legroom :-)

I like the motion here. There is no doubt we are going forwards. There is a UK airline whose slogan is 'come on, let's fly!'. This picture says 'come on, let's ride!'.

Ah -- if only all Hummers were like this one.

Not much to add -- I'm on the same journey following the white line in to the distance. A fine effect.

I like Hummers, this one included :-)

The white line plays wonderfully with the bike. It is like it will take off any moment. There is a flair of racing in here.

Having focused on the practicalities of a bicycle stranded by a road in Tokyo, I do agree with the comments above on the line. I have to admit that the name Hummer takes some getting past - the colour red comes to mind!!

Given that my eye is following the white line, I wish the sky was a bit more subdued; that big white spot just keeps drawing me out of the photo.

It does lead off into infinity (and beyond) with the white line and the bright bit at the end of the road, but that is part of the attraction.

Thanks for the comments. I saw this and knew that I wanted it to fly. If Mr. Spielberg had been casting for airborne bicycles today he'd probably go for one of these rather than his original choice:

As you'll notice, only ET needs to chain up his bike in Tokyo.

Thanks for the link photo. I look forward to commenting on the next one.
