Girl and Skimboard

I'll attempt to catch up on commenting when I return this weekend.

Comments:
In many ways I prefer the understated action here to great big Hawaian waves: there's plenty going on in the bubbling surf and water streaming off the board and the girl's elbow. The light on her figure invites a life drawing class. How nice, also, to see a girl photographed who does not know that it is happening, thus making her stance and movement natural: the opposite to a Botticelli Venus! Presumably she doesn't eat just junk food.

I am concerned though, for the apparently dead body drifting along the shoreline!

I'm glad John mentioned the dead body. I looked at this late last night and decided that either the time or the wine had the better of me...

Other than that (!) a lovely relaxed and natural pose.

I keep looking for the dead body, as I found the "rock" but then I found the shorts. Seems way too shallow for snorkling! I agree about the early morning light on the girl, provides a nice sculpture effect, as well as the water coming off the skim board. Probably best if you cropped out the dead body;- )

Lovely light on the girl, and a good use of high shutter speed and narrow DOF to isolate her. Unfortunately, the crack-creeping swimsuit reminds me of the butt-shot school of street photography.

I think that you have found a way to produce pictures that I find sexy/erotic. That is a super bum! I'll give that 10/10!

I found the 'dead' body amusing and the capture of the water droplets just a bit special giving the picture a sense of movement it might otherwise of lacked.

This picture has that low light warm feel again which I like.

I wonder how much air tickets are...............

Yikes, a cheeky image with dead bodies. Who knew? This should attract the viewers to Stills ;- )

The girl (too young for you, Rex ;-) ), and the "dead body" boy, who I believe was her younger brother, were part of the group of teens in "Indian Rocks Beach, September evening". I found her naturalness and apparent lack of self consciousness beautiful and refreshing in every image, front or back, that included her.

Matt, I am happily unaware of the "butt-shot school of street photography", but I confess I hesitated to post this here due to the "sexy" factor. (I have another where she's lying in the surf that I consider even more provocative)

As to the "dead body" -- I considered cloning him out, but glad I resisted since I so enjoyed the comments.

I can't believe that you "hesitated to post this", or consider another "even more provocative" - that seems like self-censorship. What one sees on a US beach must be acceptable!

Come one, this has nothing provocative. It is a great moment of light, joy, fun, that is frozen forever. The girl is cute, yes, great for her and great for the picture. The way the colours of the see and the board are alike and in perfect complement with the skin tan and warmth of light make it work very well. It also plays very well with the series.

Okay, so I was preoccupied with other 'things' to even notice the 'dead body'. Beautiful light as always but more especially this time I appreciate the water. The drops from the right elbow are so delicate which contrast well with the larger 'droplets' from the base of the board.
