Hotel

Comments:
This reminds me of an airbrushed painting or a very well done computer illustration -- and I mean that as a compliment. I like it very much.

There is, indeed, something photo-realistic, rather than photo, about this. Possibly the palette, or possible the minimal role that shadow is playing.

Also, I keep expecting words to scroll across those bars.

My first reaction was that we were posting images of our paintings as well. This color scheme and layout has a 1980's abstract painting look. The give-away was the reflective clouds in the windows. Nice balance and I find myself taking my time to look at this image.

Whereas I look at it as a depiction of a style of architecture, except that here there is no discernible style so I presume that it is post-modern. But not new enough for the spider-webs not to have started forming (near left lower edge)! So the hotel cleaner needs a talking to. Having said that, the picture has the feel of how one imagines they lived in the '20s and '30s in their bright new art deco buildings. A clever composition.

"This color scheme and layout has a 1980's abstract painting look."

Or the look of late 80's early 90's architecture. This looks like a lot like the atrium of the building in which I work. It also reminds me of the Milwaukee Art Museum.

I think I might need a little more context for this too really work.

All very geometric and clean. However, I feel a little crammed in with the strong white border along the top of the shot. Good reflections add some depth.
