off with her head

Comments:
For some reason that purple bag makes this come together.

I am amused by that dress and the relationship with the shopper.

Did you linger waiting for the right shopper?

But Matt, if you live in London you have to have the right bag!

Rex - all of about 10 seconds; this was just the other side of Lower Marsh from the marionette show, with which I was at that time engaged!

It's the title again. I wouldn't have made that particular connection. My eye is more drawn, in fact, to the spaceship lighting in the shop behind the glass, and the angles along the top edge.

I agree with colin about the stuff on the edges, top and both sides. If I use my hand to crop the white of the left sign and same for right side, it becomes a stronger image, and more impact with cropping off the top jagged tooth gray edges. I like the title with this image, very humerous! Also, the comparison of the fashion statements from two very different periods, especially the very concelled legs and the very defined leggings.

I did do a crop to square (so not losing the angles at the top) in order to lose the signs but didn't like it! In the end, I decided that the angles, in particular, were another modern counterpoint.

A shame I am falling so far behind. I will attempt to catch up today.

That headless dress has taken on a life of its own thanks to the shopper, they seem to be looking at one another, which is funny since the dress has no eyes. The contrast in style is striking. The rectangular shapes on the windows, coming in from right and left borders, are interesting.

I am a fan of the bright colors and how they "flow" here.

Christina - although aware of the colours when taking this, I was surprised how much more there was at play when I developed it.

Like Colin, I too am drawn more by the lighting than anything else. The pedestrian's gaze is a little off (she seems to be looking more at the posters than the dress) which creates a lack of connection between her and the model.
