Yountville

Back from a short holiday and work combination trip in the California wine area of Napa County.
Comments:
I wonder where the name came from. Deliberately or not, this evokes the South - South Carolina say (not sure whether the palms would fit in there). But maybe that has more to do with the tinting you have chosen. But then it also has a bit of a Hollywood set feel to it as well. There's a good balance between the clouds and the building with the trees making the link.
Everything works for me here. I'm taken in bottom left and my eyes are forced to the top right through the movement created by those clouds. Those cars I can just about live with but perhaps you could have done with bumping them a little further forward. I'll use my word of the day again: all the lines seem to be off kilter in the shot. It creates a surreal effect which the post processing has added to.
First thought was the Great Gatsby but although my US geography is poor I think its the wrong coast!
The tones on this image are really beautiful. The ubiquitious cars stop the image being an old timer, if you know what I mean, it has an old feel.
I love the sky, but I'm not sure about the rest. The bottom half of the image seems a little busy. The tonality in the sky is great though.
Thanks for your comments, as I could wait (1/2 hr) for the changes in the sky to get the balance I wanted, I could not do anything about the cars, but this is okay for this image. Yountville was founded by Mr Yount in the early 1900's and a lot of older homes, which this is one that was convertered into a very nice resturant.
Lovely tonal range and atmosphere here. The cars do dash the initial old time feeling, but keep it real, so that could be considered a plus.
Wonderful clouds.
