Letters

Nishihara, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo.

Comments:
I have to say that I prefer your pictures with more in them! The little sign in English is a fun quirk (big envelopes not invited) but the door and wall don't thrill me so much after that, even if lots of stops are pulled on texture and ratios.

Lots of textures here. Good geometry too, but I want something to pull my eye in. Perhaps bit of edge burn or a border would do it. Something to keep my eye from wandering out of frame.

A minimalist compostion that brings out the two relative textures, wooden door and succuco wall in a very flat plane. Then the three floating objects and provides an odd balance to the image and creates ambuguity and tension.

The simplicity of the design and the square format appeal to me. The sort of circular marred spot in the stucco keeps it from being bland .

I can envision it as a music CD cover, or for some other graphic design project like an annual report!

John, hopefully this week's post has more to keep you entertained - I try to please my audience! It's taking longer than expected to get used to the Rolleicord and I'm itching to get back to 35mm again. However, the texture/detail from MF is so appealing even if the subject matter is less than so. Thanks for the comments.

The tones and textures of this appeal to me.

I am intrigued by the English LETTERS and the shiny door knob.
