Tug and Barge

Comments:
I love maritime shots and am drawn to harbours and coastline anywhere I can get to them. I like this very much because the units, the tug in particular, invite one to smell salt on rust and sense the slight rolling in the swell. The wind-ruffled surface beyond them contrasted with the sheltered water this side is very descriptive. Warships use coir or bamboo fenders; the worker bees use rubber tyres!

What else to Sunbelt rentals deal in ?!!

My thoughts were, thats had a life and a half, and what lovely lighting.

I see John has already mentioned the 'sunbelt rentals' element. A joke had been forming in my mind about 'I'd hate to see the rustbelt then'.

Nice light; a very you use of colour; a cropping which suggests interest off to both left and right.

Is this a place you can explore more, or is that 'no visitors' sign all domineering?

Colin: I passed by these vessels on another boat heading out into the Gulf of Mexico. They were part of a dredging operation going on (so I'm told by Stan, who, by the way, suggested I post this image) Unfortunately no opportunity to "explore" although I did get some other interesting shots during that same trip.

The texture on the tug is interesting, but other than that, my eye isn't finding much to rest on. This feels just a little to cluttered.

Again some beautiful light has taken this up a notch. However, I'm having trouble with the 'Sunbelt' green - though relatively small in the whole composition its hue is so different from the rest that it takes over a little.
