magnolia in mist

Comments:
When I looked at this at work I was surprised at the extent to which the flower disappeared into the laundry. Now viewing it at home the flower stands away from the 'line' and its subtle colours can be appreciated.

The juxtaposition is unusual!

I have problems with objects appearing from 'nowhere'. So this shot leaves me a little deflated with the inclusion of the bud. It sticks out so much that it does spoil the rest of the scene for me. The opened flower works well with its background - both the petals with the washing on the line and the greenery with the grass. That little brown blemish should be 'adjusted'.

Given my initial comment the background would need to be much less interesting for me to welcome the bud in the shot.

Not sure about the background, but I keep coming back to the the texture of the blossom. There's something intriguing about those beads of mist.

I find myself more interested in the colors and patterns of the laundry than the flower and bud. My eyes wish to pull that part into focus, even though the flower is attractive (not so the bud).

An interesting idea that I don't think has quite worked. The second flower behind the main bloom at the top, and the bud, don't earn their keep.

The blue and the yellow garments are vital. As is the overall shape and direction of the line.

Next spring perhaps... . Useful comments on this experiment. The offending buds hadn't really featured on my radar as I thought of them as all of one with the realism approach so I'll ponder that. The brown blemish has to stay! That is nature!
