I agree about the sky: it wouldn't have been the same set against blue. It looks as though you have been pulling out the shadows under the 'eaves' but maybe it is all the white/light surfaces bouncing the light around. It is pleasingly asymmetrical and that holds the interest, along with the rope, which gives the place a lived-in feel. But my favourite bit is the cross: without being religious, the use of the horizontal plane is exotic.
Great lines, texture and colours. That rope brings it together for me. It just does not fit in with the rest of the 'perfect' geometries at work. Simple composition with a surprisingly strong result.
This really works for me, too. All the things mentioned -- sky, cross, rope, color -- count me in on those. I will also mention those wonderful windows. Excellent.
