In case of fire: remove wrapping

Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo

Comments:
A delightful incongruity.

The plastic stops them getting wet in the rain..................

Having polished them to make them look good there is a desire to keep them looking really good.....................

The plastic makes any passing fireman stop and think: Is this building really on fire?....................

These fire hydrants have just been delivered and are not unwrapped yet...........................

Oh Oh I love it................

Your humor is showing again. Clever and nicely framed. What building is this, with such nice stone tiles and window work?

An interesting juxtaposition of new and (maybe) not so new. The quasi-imperial feel to the gate brings a certain heaviness to the picture, which is well offset by the blank wall. Otherwise, the picture is a bit too cold to enable me to connect to it - it does it well though!

I like the humor, but the composition feels a bit flat. I think I might have preferred this straight on, but then that's more my style than it is yours.

My thought too. The shallow diagonal is not something I use much.

Often you take thin material and turn it into fine photographs, but here I think that there is more in the material than you've used.

Thanks for the feedback. This is on the side of a newish designer store in Ginza (may be the Gucci flagship store but would need to check). Perhaps that's why they have the hydrants covered up. The ledge is about four foot off the ground. All in all not very convenient for fighting fires. As for the composition I was stymied right and left with construction work and wanted to keep the presentation simple. In hindsight perhaps more of the environment may have made this a little stronger.
