Clearwater Evening Light

Comments:
The reflection of the boat's cabin is well done - giving a sense of a memory of the trip. I suppose one has to put the fact that the sun is so large and bright down to this being Florida! But the lit up windows of the high rise block balance it out nicely and underline the feel of evening. I like the layered use of direct and indirect viewing.
Thank you, John. Apparently what is going on here is not coming across completely though. This is not a reflection of the cabin, it is looking through the cabin to the east -- the bright sky is reflected in the windows on the west side of the boat (which is why the sun looks doubled).
OK, so it's not direct, but I don't think that materially alters the effect: it just means that I can't say "direct and indirect, just the latter. The appearance of the cabin means that my first observation is meant in spirit!

You mean it isn't a careless use of the cloning tool :-)
This sparks lot of memories of commuting by ferry in Sydney, and as always I get carried away on the memories, and stop looking at the photo....so dragging myself back and cloning my 'good use of colour' comment from a previous use...I'm glad this isn't more abstract.
I feel that I can connect with the sort of place that this is.
It's certainly interesting on a number of layers. However, a more dramatic backdrop could lift this out somewhat. Colin alluded to Sydney and I think this idea would have worked better with a well known skyline in the rear to force the viewer to concentrate on the complexities of the reflections. A good idea which I'd carry around and use again at suitable junctures.
This is a good reflection picture with a feel of the end of the day and going home.
I think the image strengthens with the removal of the right hand 'light' reflection which makes the rhs a bit weak.
