Ft. De Soto Chair

A contribution to the beach structure theme.
Comments:
Brings back memories of Cocoa beach. We could get pictures like this banned for upsetting our damp existence! Great feel for the end of the day (I presume - and not the beginning?) with colouring to match in all parts of the picture. The softness of the grass in the foreground is just right to support the main action of the group around the lifeguard chair and the woman approaching them (she knows what colour dress to wear to set off the evening sun). One would never guess that there is a large conurbation not too far away. All very appealing.
End of day is correct. I had to look up the word "conurbation" -- so thanks for the lesson -- this IS a learning site. ;-)
I find the lighting on this odd.
By odd I mean that although I believe it looked like this, because I recognise this kind of lighting, there is a bit of my brain that doesn’t believe it is real.
I have had this 'problem' looking at my own images with unusual lighting or colour content. I've been annoyed by comments like "you've got a colour cast" when in fact the colour of the image represents what I saw at sunrise/sunset.
I have also not painted a sky because I was confident that no one would believe the sky really looked like what I would have painted.
I like the two yellow subjects.
I don't get much from this one - apart from an appreciation of the timing of the shot.
What interests me though is the way that you are using colour (wildlife shots aside for the moment). The three shots you've posted so far have each had something about their colour that make them stand out.
They are not the same in any way, but you've got me thinking about colour in a way that I've not done before. More please :-)
Some beautiful late sunshine to enhance the colours. Also an interesting triangle between the solitary walker, the crowd round the chair and the lone bird.
That triangle though traps an area of emptiness which either enhances or detracts from the experience. I think it adds a certain tension as I'm not to sure what is behind the middle greenery. Perhaps the crowd around the chair know...
A peaceful image.
The arrangement of the figures and the bird is oddly reminescent of street photography, which is not at all congruent with the lighting and the scene.
