Window on Amsterdam

Comments:
There is a great harmony of colour in this, particularly of the object with the background (those windows are my favourite bit). Indeed the richness of colour is the prime attraction. The idea and execution also get high marks; but the object itself seems to have been designed to annoy! What is that dolphin-foetus object at the bottom?!

I'm a sucker for found mirror shots, but I'm wondering what this is exactly. Some sort gilded glass retort? The 'thumbs' pointing in opposite directions is an interesting touch.

I'm guessing that the 'dolphin' thing is a hand on some kind of blow up golden santa or some such.

The colours and 'clarity' give immediate impact but, overall, I'm just not grabbed by the subject itself. Having said that I enjoy the subdued nature of the background and that coupled with the clarity of the foreground is striking.

I've been struggling with this photo since it was posted. There are a lot of elements to like, but somehow I don't like the overall result. And as comments go, that's next to useless.

Too much of a mystery? Is this real or contructed? Feeling slightly uneasy about the "hand"? I don't know.

It isn't for the want of trying though.

I'd say that hand could actually make the picture if you take a lateral to the world of genies. A quick rub of the orb and a picture is suggested to the viewer. Alas, the background takes away too much though. The orb is only dominant with the reflection and I'm needing its whole brought much more away from its background. An interesting perspective.

I emailed another image to John to help with the explanation as to what the subject is. I think the best description, in words, is to explain that there are two inflated ET subjects with mirrored spherical heads in a shop display.

I love to look for interesting and thought provoking reflections.
