Clichéd Exmoor

A geologist might recognise the rock in the river.
A vet might recognise the pony urine in the water.
Well, your title says it Rex! It's a good composition though and the leaves have stationed themeselves well. The water looks quite clean too (small amount of nitrogen-free froth on the LH rock - the pony's offering would be filtered out before it reaches the river). As I said to Johnjo, my preference is for clearer water and though the 'smoothing' works the downside is the loss of vision down through the water and the slightly ugly effect bottom right - the whitish surface.
This one makes me hungry Rex. The texture of that middle left stone is akin to a nicely bbQ'd chicken with the skin just the way I like it :)
I get what John is saying about the water but there is a silkiness to right hand side on the stones that appeals.

One of the benefits of the smoothed out water is apparent increase in sharpness in the stationary elements. Because of that contrast between smooth and sharp it's clearer to me what the focus of this shot is, although I'd like to crop out about the top 15 percent of the frame.
There is a beautiful sheen to the water in the top of the frame. Almost like whisps of cloud dancing along the surface. That middle leaf is much too bright though. If you could calm it down a little then you're on your way to a picture of two different halfs. The smooth top versus the craggy (lived-in) bottom
