Two Glasses?

Okinawa, Japan.

Comments:
I like the way in which the glasses appear to float in the image. The surrounding pattern of reflections helps concentrate attention on the glasses.

I am less content with the top of the image and feel a crop at the top of the chair removes a lot of distracting objects from the image. The harmony of the lines and reflections becomes more apparent with this crop. Even the back of the chair feeds my eye back to the glass with that crop.

I like this.

I like context so I am not disturbed too much by the view outside the window; indeed, one's eye always falls back to the glass after working over the chair outside. Put simply, this shows the form and grace inherent in an ordinary scene (assuming that the housework has been done!) and the diagonals are strong. The lining up of reflective and non-reflective surfaces is clever. One thinks of this scene as being influenced by Japanese custom but the furniture is Western. I also like the different planes.

My eye goes from top to bottom on this. All that white space can't compete against the shadows at the bottom of the frame, although I'm betting all would be lost if that dark drape wasn't acting as a bounding element on the right side of the frame.

Clearly not my home.....where are all the half read books and half completed projects? Where is all the clutter!

The reflection of the glass is a nice bonus extra in an image that works anyway. I'm intrigued by the way my eye sits in the lower right corner, goes to the glass, briefly notices the background and then returns to the corner. In fact, the longer I look at this the more reluctant I am to leave the table (speaking visually). I love the fact that the line of the water completes the line of the table. The glass both manages to break out of the table shape and be a part of it.

A gem.

I like it. The condensation on the glass provides a clue to its chilly contents, and the chair gives me a feeling of pending relaxation.

I entered this in to a competition. Let's see how I do!

Good luck. It all depends on what the judge likes!
