St Dogmaels gallery

The title could equally well have been grandchildren. They are outside a small gallery in a small village near Cardigan, taken after a day on the beach (we were looking after them for 9 days!). It is just a little bit more than a run-of-the mill snapshot and the inadvertent combination of colours is quite fun. It also seems to mark the departure of summer here.

Comments:
The child on the left looks a bit unhealthy to me. Clearly 9 days of healthy country air and fresh food is in order. Odd clothes too.

It looks like a happy moment. The only thing photographic that I can think of to say is that it might have been good to drop down to their level. But maybe the grandparental knees would have protested.

I have developed knees, I never used to have them, my legs just used to bend in the middle, now they don't!

I like the juxtaposition of the central lad and the artwork in the gallery. The picture is almost a triptych.

I think I had done my duty at knee level, and flat on my stomach, by then! A lot of the ones I take of them are at lower level but I rather like the angles you get from this altitude here.

She is a total Amazon but she is not a lad by gender!! The lad on the right had just finished having a sulk after being told off for generally misbehaving inside.

Hmm . . . if it was just the two children . . .

The statue throws off the composition for me. I can see a vertical crop of the two children being funny, but the third figure prevents me from seeing the child behind the door, throwing the whole composition out of whack.

Cute curls on the blond though.

It falls off to the right and nothing holds it in. That bottom right triangle doesn't help me either. However, the expression on the doll matches the pose of the photographer(?). As much to say I'm bored lets get out of here - but the kids won't let me. It's not strong enough to carry the picture though. Some tactical cropping?
