This was made up of a B/W Agfa slide of the shadow and a colour slide of the beach. I felt they went well togrther.

Comments:
I like this. I would have never guessed it was a combo, at least not seeing it at web sizes. There's texture and luminosity to this. The pattern on the beach draws your eye up into the shadow. Nice work.

yes, good one. like it a lot. great atmosphere.
would suggest a slight crop at the top to enhance the shadows. anyway well captured.

I'm not sure, but I think I disagree with Michael and am looking for more involvement from the shadow people. As a composition the current inclusion is fine, and the 'drawing up' does work, it is just that the relative incongruity of a baby buggy on sand at this time of day niggles. On the other hand the imaginative element of this is good and exploits the combination of the two slides effectively as an image. I can see that it appeals to your mystery seeking.

I wouldn't have known it was a composite, but I would have wondered about the buggy - both the type and the time of day. No self respecting baby in this day and age would be seen in anything less than full urban assualt buggy (i.e. large wheels) in such a dangerous situation as a damp beach. And surely there should be foot prints behind the feet?

The shadow was also taken on the beach, albeit at a different time.

There is a nice play of light on the ripples in the sand and a bit/hint of human interest with the shadow.

It all tied together so well I'd not noticed it was a composite.

Looking for those foot and wheel prints I doubted my first impression that the surface was sand. I agree with michael about the crop and would be tempted to lose the people and buggy, though the shadows may be too short to allow that.

Having said all that I like the shot very much. It appeals on many levels, the luminosity and texture. The range of dark to light. The way it teases with the shadow.
