personally would prefer 'near Star (2). the compo seems more interesting, means work better for me, with the lines of fence and tracks leading from far to near (near to far). the 'open way' invites me to take a (virtual) walk into the image. while the POV in Star (1) stops me. also the conversion appears a bit 'harsh' (S1). hope the print (S1) will work well. curious what the others will say...
I thought this one was going to be the more interesting because of the more unusual composition, but a longer look at the pictures has changed my mind. This angle loses the shape created by the tracks and the horizon is just a little too square for such an uninteresing sky. Back to (1).....
Michael - as I said in my response to the comments in (1) my main reason for shooting here was to get all the tree groups so, although I like (2) it doesn't fulfil my needs but it is valuable to get the different reactions.
