Tracks

it's march and still snowing.
waiting for springtime...
Comments:
A very stark picture using the black and white to good effect. It looks like a "waiting for springtime" type shot: not enough snow to make it spectacular but enough to make things cold and damp, more slush. A strong, almost despairing composition that is two-dimensionally graphical but also leads - nowhere!
You do know how to create a picture from nothing, don't you!
I find the picture plane in this shot really unsettling. The two almost completely black lines in the bottom left corner seem to be on a different plane from the top half of the picture. Very odd and very striking.
I forgot to say....as to spring. We took the snow tyres off the car yesterday. Spring is now essential.
Nice composition making a picture out of nothing. I prefer the top half as the tracks have more detail, but the tracks at the bottom act as a good lead into the more interesting part. We had our worst snow of the winter today. A sprinkling laid on my car but nothing settled on the ground. Got a sledge 9 years ago and was only able to use it, for the first time, 2 years ago. Such is life on the South coast.
There is an interesting lack of perspective in this image which almost makes it into a 2D abstract.
The dark bottom and light top also brings the background to the fore, tipping the image up.
Ummm, interesting mind games.
Looking at this again I wondered if the apparent increase in detail as you go toward the 'back' of the image also helps with the 2d feel.
