Autumn Leaves

Catching the colours of autumn.

Comments:
well captured colors of autumn. like the tone in tone appearance with the additional green. the aspect ratio is enhances the compo.
hope we'll see some spring colors soon.

Great colours, but I don't like the texture. I would be interested to hear how deliberate this was - do we differ in our taste or were you limited by the materials?

I too hope for some spring colour soon!

This is the sort of still life that appeals, rather than highly polished and studio lit flowers. I am also a bit of a sucker for the texture you have here: it moves it on a bit from being a photo. These are nicely balanced hues although, contrary to Michael, I am not so sure about the aspect ratio even if it had to be done to isolate the two leaves. But I would rather have it than not!

It was really the colours of the 2 leaves that I wanted to emphasise, rather than the texture. I also liked the shape of these 2 leaves and this is what I wanted to focus on.

I like the complementary shapes and colours of these two leaves. The 'catch light' on the orange leaf helps bring it out from the background. Similarly with the stems.

I am not sure if the 'texture' mentioned is what I think is the dark grainy nature of the background? It looks as if the image was captured using a very fast grainy film.
