Attracting Spring

Tulips taken with a Lensbaby 2.0 (http://www.lensbabies.com)

Thanks for that. I'm not sure it is the kind of thing I'd do, I think I am still a bit unadventurous.

I enjoyed the galleries and can see the artistic possibilities.

The OoF effect here makes it more a composition of complementary colours.

Using this lens seems to make the blurring more natural than when people attempt it with PS. This is simple but is a very effective composition that makes good use of the white to set off the orange (in particular) and the green.

We haven't got past snowdrops here - well, they have just finished and the daffodils are struggling into flower at half their ususal height. No, I remember now - I took a crocus half covered in snow!

yes like the blurring much better than attempted with PS. have tried some 'Lensbaby' simulations in the past but now as I know and see the real Lensbaby effect I don't like the simulated. the real effect seems to add something like motion blurring. but its not easy to handle the LB to get pleasing images. need some more experience.

This one grabs your eye, much more than a straight record. The OOF effect works well, giving a feeling of life within the flowers. Albeit they have probably been cut.

My lensbaby is still sitting in its unopened packet. Must do something about that!

If you hadn't let on about the way this was done I would have been wondering about how you got the mix of still foreground and moving background flowers. But living as I do somewhere where the wind never stops blowing that just shows my preoccupation.

Nobody has mentioned the slightly unusual composition with everything shooting out of the lower left corner. This suits the subject very well. One sees so many 'still' still lifes. This is a very welcome change.

We have tulips in flower in the garden. They are before the daffodils this year. Species tulips so nothing exotic like these oranges.

I should have spelled it out!! "...a very effective composition..." was supposed to include the springing out of the left but I admit that I then went on to qualify with white and colour. I shall have to be less elliptical!
